Anyone from the Cincinnati area knows that Skyline Chili is a staple in the fast food scene. With locations all over the country, they have been serving up the best coneys smothered with their secret chili sauce and topped with an impressive amount of cheese for years. We have been working with a franchise group to help get their payroll cleaned up and running more efficiently.

The group we have been working with switched to our payroll services after 12 years with ADP. 12 years is a very long time in our industry and when you work with someone that long it isn’t easy to transition. But, we were determined to provide a seamless transition to ensure that the business didn’t miss a beat. We were able to clone the process that ADP had been providing, while finding ways to be more efficient. The skyline franchise we work with employs a good amount of teenage workers who don’t have a bank account yet, so we provide them with printed checks to ensure that all of their employees are paid properly and on time.

During our initial assessment, we found a number of errors in the payroll rates and taxes that ADP was processing. By addressing these issues, we were able to save our client a lot of money and help them be fully compliant with all the rules and regulations. This was a huge win for them and will allow them to feel confident that they are fully compliant and meeting all the criteria needed to ensure they won’t be hit with any fees or tax issues down the road.

In the state of Ohio, payroll processors are not obligated to handle Workers Compensation payments, and many of them do not. This leaves the burden of determining the businesses payments up to them which can be confusing and lead to issues down the road. At Doyle, we handle that for our clients. We like to take the extra step to ensure our clients are fully compliant and up to date with all of their taxes and payments. We work with them to ensure that their True-Up is current and compliant. If you are unfamiliar with the True-Up, you can learn more here: Doyle HCM – What is the True Up?

We also worked with them to help amend their Employee Retention Tax Credit. If you are unfamiliar with the ERTC, you can learn more about it here: Doyle ERTC Success. Skyline stayed open during those tough months of Covid and made sure they kept their employees on payroll and continued serving up the best coneys possible to their hungry customers. We were able to find over $900,000 that they will be reinvesting back into their business!

Here are a few words from our client Jeff Cornwell, he is a Skyline Chili Franchisee and a great person to work with!

“We are very happy with our move to Doyle. It is nice to be able to call and talk to the same person every time I have questions! Using one of the bigger companies, it was a different person every time and had to go over the same questions time and time again. The ERTC process was seamless with Doyle. They got us a very substantial return that has helped us through everything that has been thrown at us. It is nice to have people to talk to that take care of any issues that come about. We are very happy with the service we receive from Doyle.”
